On 15 October 2024, the doors of the Roter Salon at the Volksbühne will be opened for a special preview of the interfilm short film festival. At the festival preview, the curators will present their personal favourite films of the year. The selected short films offer a first taste of what awaits the audience at the festival – exciting, touching and surprising cinematic experiences!

Following the film screenings, the curators will be available for a Q&A. It is also an opportunity to find out more about the background to the film programmes, the selection of themes and the creative vision behind the festival. Over a drink, it is possible to talk to filmmakers, experts and film fans in a relaxed atmosphere.

The interfilm Festival 2024 has a clear focus on body politics and the politics of bodies. Queer, feminist, decolonial and intersectional perspectives take centre stage. The aim is to celebrate cinema as a living, social place and to understand the festival as a discursive space.
